Terrazzo Green Features

Terrazzo is the first residential highrise in the Southeast to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDTM) pre-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). When construction is completed and final certification is achieved, Terrazzo will be the first LEED Certified Green highrise in Nashville. Here are just a few of the Green feature’s at Terrazzo and the benefits to Terrazzo condominium owners and the environment.

Reduced Energy Consumption. Lighting and mechanical systems at Terrazzo are designed for optimized efficiency. Your condo will use on average 35-40% less energy than a typical residence, which provides you with significant utility savings and also helps reduce the impact of energy use on natural resources.

Energy Star Appliances. Energy Star appliances in every unit mean reduced energy consumption and lower utility cost for everyone.

40% Reduced Water Consumption. Through low flow fixtures and dual flush toilets, water consumption will be reduced 40% at Terrazzo. A single condominium residence will save thousands of gallons of water each year.

Recycling Stations. On site recycling stations make recycling of glass, metal, plastic and paper easy and convenient for all residents.

These measures will reduce the building’s impact on the thermal microclimate, improve human comfort, and help keep cooling bills low.

Urban Location. Terrazzo’s location provides proximity to public transportation, shopping, dining, and entertainment - all within walking distance.
Recycled Materials. Terrazzo will also be constructed using materials that are sustainable or high in recycled content. This reduces the need for raw materials and increases the demand for recyclables in the marketplace.
Construction Waste Management. Terrazzo will recycle over 50% of its construction waste. This will divert hundreds of tons of debris from area landfills.
Local and Regional Materials. Terrazzo will be constructed using materials that are harvested and manufactured locally. This helps the local economy and reduces fuel consumption in transportation of construction materials.
