One of the Southeast’s leading diversified real estate companies

At Crosland, our goal is to create a unique sense of place. We design, develop and manage properties that make our communities better places to live, work and shop.

Crosland is one of the Southeast’s leading diversified real estate companies. We uphold our founding family’s decades-long commitment to community-oriented development, affordable housing and responsible stewardship.

We are an innovator in multi- and mixed-use development, developing and managing residential and commercial projects, including condominium communities, apartment communities, and retail, office and industrial space. Today, we have regional offices in three states and our portfolio has a market value exceeding $1.5 billion.

Crosland’s Tennessee Division

Crosland opened its Tennessee Division in May 2005, with the acquisition of Armistead Barkley, Inc., one of Nashville’s most respected real estate development firms specializing in urban revitalization. Bill Barkley, a recognized expert in redevelopment, heads the division as president. Steve Armistead, senor vice president, oversees leasing and brokerage for the division.

Barkley and Armistead were founding developers of The Gulch – a $400 million urban redevelopment project located in downtown Nashville. Their previous projects focused on the conversion of existing properties to contemporary use, while maintaining their architectural integrity and character. Some of those projects include:

  • Mercury View Lofts
  • RuSans Japanese Restaurant, Bar Twenty3, Sambuca, Watermark and Provence Breads (formerly Javanco Computer Warehouse)
  • The 1101 McGavock Building, including Radius10
  • The 12th & Demonbreun building (previously the Braid Electric Building)
  • BMG Nashville Headquarters (formerly Little Sisters of the Poor)

Committed to Nashville and The Gulch

Terrazzo will be a significant landmark in The Gulch and signifies Crosland's commitment to Nashville. A second condominium development - just across the street - will become a sister community of Terrazzo. And we are launching an upscale mixed-use retail and apartment development on 12th Avenue, near the Demonbreun Street entrnace to The Gulch.

Today, with Crosland and a number of developers working together, the vision of a thriving new urban community in The Gulch is quickly becoming a reality.
